By: David Winzelberg February 22, 2022

A Long Island-based commercial real estate investment group has purchased a Florida shopping center for $9.2 million.

The group, led by Roger Delisle, who is also a principal of the Smithtown-based Island Associates brokerage firm, acquired the 86,815-square-foot, grocery-anchored Sunrise Plaza shopping center on 12 acres at 31070 Cortez Blvd. in Brooksville, Fla.

Anchored by a Winn Dixie supermarket, the shopping center is 89 percent occupied with a tenant roster that includes Beef O’Brady’s, Anytime Fitness, Winn Dixie Liquors, Access Health Care, River Ridge Animal Clinic and more. The center also features Tesla charging stations for electric vehicles.

Sunrise Plaza is located down the block from a 1.5 million-square-foot Walmart distribution center and adjacent to a 1,385-acre site of a planned development for 4,200 single-family homes and 600 apartment units.

Delisle of Island Associates represented the buying group, while Whitaker Leonhardt of JLL represented the seller in the sales transaction.
